VMware Workstation Player 17.6.0.61175, released on September 3, 2024, is a desktop virtualization application that allows users to run multiple operating systems simultaneously on a single computer without rebooting. Known Issues and Resolutions

  • CentOS 9 Stream with kernel versions later than 5.14.0-432 is not supported.
  • Upgrading from versions earlier than 17.6 will not be automatic for Windows hosts due to a migration to Broadcom services; users must download and install the new version manually.
  • Issues with multi-monitor setups may occur, reverting to a single screen in certain hardware configurations.
  • Several performance issues have been resolved, including slow virtual machine performance on Windows hosts for non-administrator users and installation errors on Linux hosts with kernel version 6.8
